Fair product - Poor Service

I purchased the SC500 via etrailer.com about a year and a half ago. It has performed fairly well until just recently. The spring locking pins rusted up and springs no longer worked. This was readily alleviated by purchase of replacements via etrailer.com website. Then the tubular 'stem' which supports the actual carrier cage / floor split at the up / down pivot bolt hole. This allowed the rear of the carrier to nearly drag on the pavement. Getting a replacement part has been extremely trying in that etrailer.com did not list this as a 'replaceable' part and Rage Powersports (the manufacturer) refused to deal directly with an 'end user'. After nearly a week of repeated e-mails and telephone calls I am still without a functioning carrier, cost of replacement part, or how soon this will be available. At this juncture, I am considering purchasing a different product.

Great tool

I use this to haul a snowblower to different properties. It works very well. Construction of it seems pretty heavy duty. It's a little awkward for 1 person to install on the hitch, but once on it functions without a flaw. I wish the bolts were made out of a different metal-they seems to rust quickly with all of the salt on the roads.

I have not used the carrier yet, but it seems to be exactly what I need to haul my husband's scooter.
