4Good Extension
By Munch
While I haven't tested the strength of the extension to any degree yet, I can comment on assembling it.

One reviewer mentioned hammering it together, and that's true. It doesn't just line up perfectly with the original basket. After getting a start on one side and trying to get the other side to hammer in (with a rubber mallot) and failing, I tried lining up the other side first and getting it started just slightly and hammering on the other side to get it in. Then I stood up to the back of the van and hammered on the rear end to get it pounded the rest of the way, which wasn't too difficult. The hard part was finding which side to get started, then the rest wasn't bad.

And the color is a little off compared to the original basket, but not enough for me to care personally. I would obviously like it to match so that it looks like it was painted from the same batch of paint, but the discoloration isn't enough to make a big deal of.

Orig inally I forgot to add that they also did not provide the 4 bolts that the original basket had been provided with. At first I was pretty perturbed about it and couldn't believe they actually sent it without the hardware as someone else had mentioned. I didn't call or make an effort to get the bolts as I went to a local hardware store instead and matched the threads and size. That particular bolt was out of stock, so I just ended up getting some black flush-mount hex bolts. They stick up just a tad since they don't actually become flush, so I put those bolts on the bottom and used the original round-head bolts for the top so nothing would get caught on them as a temporary fix until I get identical bolts.

..and I actually get compliments on the basket, which has been kind of weird.

2Missing Hardware and poor customer service
By sawtoothbiker
I recently purchased a sport rack and extension. The extension arrived without hardware. Your customer support line told me to go to the hardware store and find some as the product was made in China and they didnt have any. I exspressed to her that this was unsatisfactory and I wanted them shipped to me. She told me it was my responsibiliy. Imagine my surprise when I couldnt find metric button head allen screws that were gloss black. I had to settle for capscrews that are flat black and do not match. They do not match and i am not happy! I have a second Jeep that needs a rack. Yakima here I come unless support is provided. I purchased these and the cargo net on Amazon.

4Great way to increase cargo capacity
By Richard E. Zimmerman
Good product, well constructed, quality finish. Used this as an extension for my Coleman Safari Rack. Did not award 5 stars due to slight alignment issues when assembling. Probably unavoidable given the age of my roof basket and just took a little flexing here, bending there to get the screws threaded.
