Perfect for our needs

Having recently downsized from a minivan we needed something and at first I tried the less expensive sports rack (a division of Thule) and the ubolt kit (laughable that they are allowed to use the term ubolt) was nothing more than a bunch of pieces. There was no way I wanted to mess with that every time we wanted to use carrier. Amazon was wonderful about return even for oversized item and I went with this instead. It was like night and day! I had discussed it with Thule customer service first, not wanting to make same mistake twice, and the fasteners on this model are a dream by comparison. A simple claw device that is part of the unit so all you do is pop it on top of the car and clamp it to your crossbars. Cannot speak yet to traveling with it as we haven't used it yet but its a Thule and we have used others of theirs. All I know is that these newer models have far superior locking systems making them worth the extra cost. Then factor in Amazon discount and ther e was a promo when I purchased, and I was very pleased. Be warned, while it was prime so shopping was free, from this vendor, it was special delivery so it did not arrive in 2 days. There is very little detail here about item but research on Thule and then buy here. :)
